Restrained Coupling

Overview

Restrained coupling is a type of pipe connector designed to prevent the movement or displacement of connected pipes under pressure. In piping systems, there are situations where two pipes need to be connected that experience high pressure or are at risk of shifting. To address this, a restrained coupling is used, providing greater stability to the pipe joint.

Technically, a restrained coupling works by utilizing a locking system or specific mechanism that prevents the pipes from moving or separating, even when there are changes in pressure or load. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the piping system, especially in applications requiring extra strength and durability, such as water distribution, gas systems, or industrial liquid transport.
